We invite you to join us online on Thursday 7th November, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for our Converging on Cancer International Seminar.
The CRUK Convergence Science Centre is a partnership between Imperial College London and The Institute of Cancer Research. In collaboration with our international partners we arrange a monthly international seminar 'Converging on Cancer' on the topic of interdisciplinary cancer research. Our partners are
On the first Thursday of each month, we bring together speakers from across these institutions to present their research and how they use convergence science to answer cancer-related questions.
This session will be chaired by Prof Marc Schmidt-Supprian from TUM.
Thursday 7th November, 11-12pm GMT, 12-1pm CET, 7-8pm SGT
Prof Janine Erler (BRIC) - May the Force be with you: Uniting Physics and Biology to understand cancer cellular mechanics. Janine’s focus is on interdisciplinary translational research. Here, she will present the findings of a 4 year collaboration studying mechanical forces in cancer progression
Dr Sylvain Ladame (Imperial) - Dr Ladame's group aims to develop original chemical and biochemical tools to explore key biological processes (e.g. DNA transcription, DNA damage repair mechanisms), focusing on the identification of new therapeutic targets and of disease-related biomarkers.
This session will be chaired by Prof Marc Schmidt-Supprian from TUM.
Who can attend?
Researchers, students and anyone with an interest in convergence science relating to cancer research across our partnered institutions are welcome to register. Please email icr-imperial-convergence.centre@imperial.ac.uk for registration details.
