Garrick has oversight of the training portfolios within the Convergence Science Centre. This includes the Non-clinical PhD Programme and the Clinical Academic Training Programme. The non-clinical stream promotes partnerships between researchers from the Institute of Cancer Research and Imperial College London to build multidisciplinary projects geared at training the next generation of convergence scientists. The clinical scheme identifies and develop future oncologists and clinical academics in through cutting-edge training in cancer research and the engineering and physical sciences. Garrick provides operational oversight by working closely with the Training Committees of the Centre and education teams across both institutions. In addition, he is responsible for the design and delivery of a bespoke training programme in convergence science that will remove the language barrier between medical, engineering and physical sciences to accelerate the discovery, design and delivery of new treatments and tools that will benefit cancer patients. Garrick is experienced in immunology and infections, cell and molecular biology and vascular science. He was trained at Public Health England, the University of Birmingham and Imperial College London.
